Morning Star offers Christian education opportunities for the child and family through a focus on sharing God’s love with the youngest to the oldest of God’s people: Sunday Cool... Each week the Biblical theme presented in Sunday School class matches the text theme for Sunday worship and the sermon. The entire congregation explores the same text in an effort to foster discussion across the generations. Confirmation Studies Program Growing out of his strong desire to mentor and disciple teenagers, our Lead Pastor, Tom Miller, leads and oversees the Confirmation Studies program. At Morning Star 7th and 8th graders are involved in a program of study with classes on Sunday mornings (9:45 a.m.) and Wednesday evenings (6:30 p.m.). The classes focus on Lutheran faith and practice, with a strong emphasis on the Lutheran Catechism. In addition, there are service projects, small group discussions, "Faith Mentoring", retreats, social events and discussions of topics pertinent to teens. At Morning Star the service of Affirmation of Faith (Confirmation) is the last Sunday of October in the 9th grade year. There are a variety of on-going and short term study opportunities available. The News Page has information on current offerings. Some of the offerings include a regular lay-led study on Sundays at 9:45 a.m., regular studies as part of our Women's Circle ministry, the Men's Breakfast Bible Study (second Saturday in the school year at 8:00 a.m.), and regular short term studies led by Pastor Miller. |
